Nameless

06/04/2020

I should know your name, but I've lost it,
hidden in my mind I must admit.
Set it free to roam till it comes home
to match your face a perfect fit.

I've lost many names in the past
their resonance doesn't seem to last;
it seems so queer when it's so near,
and my list of names is so vast.

There was Liz, Joan, Linda and Jill,
also Tom, Richard, Andrew and Bill.
Oh, how can I find them in my mind?
They must be there somewhere still.

What can I do now to repair
my badly wired brain? I'm aware
you want me to say How's it today?
Oh! now I remember - you're Claire!
